Richie Incognito was an offensive guard in the National Football League.
In fact, of all the offensive guards who have ever played in the NFL, he may have been the most offensive of offensive guards.
Incognito was suspended for harassing, bullying, and terrorizing a teammate when he was playing for the Miami Dolphins. This included using racist slurs and threatening to harm the teammate’s mother. NFL players once voted Incognito “the dirtiest player in the league.”
Bleacher Report wrote that Incognito should be banned from the NFL for terrorizing his former teammate but also because he had been terrorizing people on and off football fields since high school.
“Richie Incognito is an awful human being,” Ty Schalter wrote in the Bleacher Report piece, adding:
“Incognito has been known as vicious and cruel, petty and dirty, dangerous and proud of it, from high school up through two different college programs and two NFL teams,” Schalter said. “Time and again, Incognito has done things no regular member of society would be allowed to get away with. Sometimes, he got a slap on the wrist. More often, he got a pat on the back.
Incognito endorsed Donald Trump for president in 2016 because he saw some of Trump in himself.
“I think that he can help this nation get back to a world superpower,” Incognito said. “Where I think he could help is putting us first again and having that—it’s my mentality, too—having that tough attitude where you put America first and everyone’s thinking we’re the greatest nation in the world. Don’t mess with America. That toughness is where I identify with him.”
