On July 21, 2017, President Donald Trump hired former investment banker Anthony Scaramucci — who had little or no political experience — as White House communications director to restore order to a White House that was embroiled with the Russian investigation and was continuously embarrassed by staffers’ leaks to journalists.
Who better to restore order to a White House run by an inexperienced, cocksure, profane, obnoxious bully than with another inexperienced, cocksure, profane, obnoxious bully?
New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd said that Trump had found someone like himself.
“A wealthy mini-me Manhattan bro with wolfy smile and slick coif who will say anything and flip any position,” Dowd said. “A self-promoter extraordinaire and master salesman who doesn’t mind pushing a bad product – and probably sees it as more fun.”
Scaramucci – and this will shock you — didn’t work out as communications director.
But I’m getting ahead of myself.
Scaramucci said he was told by the president that he would have direct access to the president.
He also said that only Trump and he could fix the White House.
“I can tell you two fish that don’t stink,” Scaramucci said when taking the job, “that’s me and the president.”

Just because Scaramucci and Trump didn’t stink to one another didn’t mean that they didn’t stink to others.
A number of White House staffers – including White House chief of staff Reince Priebus, White House press secretary Sean Spicer, and assistant press secretary Michael Short — resigned in a matter of days, which pretty much sums up Scaramucci’s tenure as communications director.

John Kelly, who succeeded Priebus as chief of staff, fired Scaramucci on July 31 after “The Mooch,” he called himself, had had a profanity-laced interview with New Yorker writer Ryan Lizza.
Scaramucci had been on the job for ten days.
Scaramucci told Lizza that Priebus was a “f—— paranoid schizophrenic.”
Scaramucci demanded that Lizza release the name or names of those who leaked information from the White House.
“What I want to do is I want to f—— kill all the leakers and I want to get the president’s agenda on track so we can succeed for the American people,” Scaramucci told Lizza.
Scaramucci than attacked Steve Bannon, Trump chief strategist.
“I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own c—,” he said. “I’m not trying to build my own brand off the f—— strength of the President. I’m here to serve the country.”

Forbes reported that Scaramucci’s interview resulted in record traffic for The New Yorker’s online site.
Scaramucci later described Trump, his former boss, in an interview as “very crazy,” “low life,” “full-blown racist,” “son of a bitch,” “maniacally narcissistic,” and “off his rocker.”
