Christian Ziegler, the chair of Florida’s Republican Party, was accused of rape in late November 2023 by a woman who had had consensual sex with Ziegler and his wife, Bridget.
Bridget Ziegler is the co-founder of Moms for Liberty, a national conservative organization that wants to prohibit curricula that mentions “LGBT rights, race and ethnicity, critical race theory, and discrimination” in schools.

The Florida Center of General Accountability reported the story under the headline, “Florida GOP Chair Christian Ziegler, Husband of Moms for Liberty Cofounder, Accused of Sexual Assault by Alleged Menage a Trois Lover.”
The Zieglers have a close working relationship with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former President Donald Trump.
The woman, the one who was not Bridget Ziegler, filed a complaint against Christian Ziegler with the Sarasota, Florida, Police Department on October 4. The alleged sexual battery occurred inside her home in Sarasota on October 2, according to a police report.
According to the complaint, the Zieglers and the woman had been involved in a three-way sexual relationship.
To quote Woody Allen, “I believe that sex is a beautiful thing between two people. Between five, it’s fantastic.”
Both the woman and Bridget Ziegler told police that Christian Ziegler and the two women had engaged in a three-way sexual encounter more than a year before the incident, according to a search warrant.
Bridget Ziegler was expected to go to the victim’s home for a threesome but, according to police, she was not able to attend. The woman then canceled because, well, you can’t very well have three-way sex with two people.
The woman said she had only agreed to the sexual encounter if Bridgett Ziegler was going to be there.
But when Ziegler’s wife could not make it, the other woman canceled, responding in a text message, “Sorry I was mostly in for her.”
Did I already mention that Bridget Ziegler’s organization was virulently opposed to “LGBT rights.”
LGBT stands for Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender.
After Christian Ziegler learned he was all that was left of the menage a trois, he reportedly went to woman’s house, which is where he reportedly committed the alleged assault.

As the woman was leaving her apartment to walk her dog, Ziegler entered the apartment and, according to the police report, had sex with the woman without her consent.
The woman called a relative and said she had been raped. The relative confirmed to police that she was “very emotional and distraught.”
The woman shared texts with police that she sent Ziegler that said she “wasn’t OK” with what he’d done and that she hadn’t been able to work.
“You didn’t bring her and then you did that to me,” she wrote.
Christian Ziegler is also alleged to have secretly videotaped the sexual encounters between the couple and the woman, sources said.
Before he became the GOP state party chair, he was Sarasota County Commissioner, who ran on a “family values” platform.
Of course, he did.
Bridget Ziegler, the co-founder of Moms for Liberty, which supports the banning of books in public schools, is also a member of the Sarasota County school board.
She was endorsed for the board by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who she helped coordinate DeSantis’s Florida Parental Rights in Education Act (popularly known as the “Don’t Say Gay” law).
Bridget Ziegler stood behind DeSantis when he signed the bill into the law.
Trump called out Christian Ziegler’s name in a speech in Kissimmee, Florida, saying that he was doing a “fantastic job.”
