Donald Trump turns law-abiding people into felons.
He didn’t do that with Dinesh D’Souza, though —
D’Souza was already a felon when they met.
Trump pardoned D’Souza.

Here’s a fun fact about Dinesh D’Souza.
He dated Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham.
But not at the same time.
That would have been really icky … even more icky than dating them individually.
D’Souza once downplayed his criminal record by saying: “Am I Jeffrey Dahmer who put bodies in the refrigerator? I gave money to a college friend of mine who was running for office.”
Has a mass murderer become the point of comparison for the crimes committed by those on the extreme right?
OK, Trump may a pathologically lying, seditious sociopath . . . but he’s no Jeffrey Dahmer!
D’Souza makes his money as an author and filmmaker. To call him an author and filmmaker is like calling Jeffrey Dahmer a troubled ne’er-do-well.
D’Souza’s books and films are conspiratorial propaganda, or “garbage,” as they say in the trades. They’re short on facts and long on self-aggrandizement, lies, vitriol, and bigotry.
Much like his life.
While attending Dartmouth University, D’Souza edited the conservative student newspaper, where he published an interview with a Ku Klux Klan leader, which was accompanied by what Vox described as a “doctored photo of a black student being lynched on campus.” He also wrote an anti-affirmative action article written in dialect and posted a list of members of the Gay Straight Alliance, many of whom were closeted.

This helped him get a job with a conservative think tank, which led to a job with the Ronald Reagan administration.
In 2012, D’Souza resigned as president of Kings College, an evangelical college, after attending a conference on Christian values in South Carolina, where he introduced the woman accompanying him as his fiancé even though he was still married to another woman.

Two years later, he pleaded guilty in federal court to a felony charge of making an illegal campaign contribution to a Republican U.S. Senate candidate. “I knew that causing a campaign contribution to be made in the name of another was wrong and something the law forbids,” D’Souza said in a quote from Newsweek. “I deeply regret my conduct.”
Here are some of D’Souza’s statements:
When President Barack Obama, who D’Souza does not believe was born in the United States, took a selfie from the Oval Office, DeSouza responded by calling Obama a “boy” from the “ghetto.”
D’Souza argued that Obama governed the United States according to the agenda of his father, a “philandering, inebriated African socialist, who raged against the world for denying him the realization of his anticolonial ambitions.” The Columbia Journalism Review called D’Sousa’s piece a fact-twisting, error-laden piece of paranoia.” The American Conservative described it “painful,” “inexcusably moronic,” and “simply stupid.”
D’Souza mocked Rosa Parks by tweeting: “So Rosa Parks wouldn’t sit in the back of the bus–that’s all she did, so what’s the big fuss?”
D’Souza mocked the grief-stricken survivors of the mass shooting at Parkland High School in Florida by tweeting, “Worst news since their parents told them to get summer jobs.”
D’Souza has claimed that enslaved people were well treated by their masters.

D’Souza also claimed that the January 6, 2021, insurrectionists were merely “a bunch of rowdy people walking through a hallway.” He later tweeted: “Does this LOOK like an insurrection? A riot? A coup attempt? attempt? If it doesn’t walk like a duck or talk like a duck then it probably isn’t a duck.”

That’s his real quote.
What in the duck was he talking about?
PolitiFact called categorically “false” D’Souza’s statement that “cops used massive amounts of force against unarmed Trump supporters, including women” during the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
