Kirk Cameron, an actor (sort of) was the child star of the television program, Growing Pains. The program went off the air, he became a born-again Christian, disappeared from television, and when he reappeared, it became clear that his best career move would be to again disappear from show business.

His 2014 move, Saving Christmas, may have ranked among the worst movies of all time if anyone had seen it. Bill Zwecker of the Chicago Sun-Times said, “Even devout born-again Christians will find this hard to stomach.”

But then Cameron found a second act by endorsing the presidency of a reality-television star, and in doing, became a growing pain again.

Cameron made news – in a bad way — by hosting multiple mask-less Christmas carols sing-a-longs, defiantly disobeying the state’s mask mandate as deaths from COVID-19 spread through the state of California in record numbers, leaving thousands dead; tens of thousands in the hospital; and health-care works exhausted, infected, and in many cases, dead; and hospitals without beds  

“Deck the halls with drops of COVID,” a New York Post writer said.
