ONLY THE BEST PEOPLE: REINCE PRIEBUS

Reince Priebus, who served as chair of the Republican Party from 2011-2017, became President Donald Trump’s first chief of staff and remained in the position for the next six months.

Priebus was the shortest-serving White House chief of staff in U.S. history.

But he remains the longest-serving Reince Priebus in White House history.

Priebus resigned under pressure from Trump because Priebus couldn’t fix the chaos in the White House — without first firing Trump.

Priebus reportedly struggled in the job because he had little experience working in government.

This lack of experience would have been obvious in any other White House administration.

But this was not the case in the Trump White House because hardly anyone had any government experience, including the president.

Trump hired Priebus even though he had called on Trump to end his presidential campaign after the candidate had bragged about sexually assaulting women in an interview with the television program Access Hollywood.

Trump, in response, endlessly ridiculed Priebus.

“Tales of the president mocking, needling, and complaining about his chief of staff to others have circulated far and wide,” Andrew Prokop wrote for Vox. “Trump reportedly coined a mocking nickname for him (“Reince-y”), and repeatedly brought up the fact that Priebus advised him to quit the race last October, after the Access Hollywood tape leaked. And if the president is known not to respect the chief of staff, you can be sure that the rest of the executive branch won’t respect him either.”

Trump hired his mini-me Anthony Scaramucci as White House communications director to fix the chaos.

This was like hiring a marching band to decrease the noise in a library.

Priebus knew his days were numbered as chief of staff after Scaramucci called him a “f—— paranoid schizophrenic” in a magazine interview.

Scaramucci resigned after being communications director for ten days.

This set a record for the shortest serving communications director in White House.
