Rob Porter resigned as White House staff secretary in early February 2018 after his two ex-wives accused him of domestic abuse.

Colbie Holderness, Porter’s first wife, and Jennifer Willoughby, his second wife, each blamed their ex-husband’s frequent abuse as the reason for their respective divorces.

Holderness, who married Porter in 2003, told CNN that Porter’s abuse began when he kicked her thigh on their honeymoon. She said that Porter’s abusive behavior also included throwing her on the bed and forcefully pushing one of his limbs into her body in anger and choking her.

Holderness said Porter hit her in the face during a trip to Florence, Italy,

Porter denied the allegations.

“These outrageous allegations are simply false,” he said.

Holderness, however, released a series of photos that showed her with a blackened eye and a bruised cheekbone after Porter punched her in the face, she said.

In addition, Jennifer Willoughby, Porter’s second wife, who married Porter in 2009, said she also endured emotional and physical abuse from Porter.

Porter’s abuse also began on their honeymoon, Willoughby said.

“He started calling me names, calling me a ‘f—ing bitch,’ how I behaved was ‘f—ing ridiculous’ and most of that was instigated around my not having sex with him often enough on our honeymoon,” Willoughby said.

A third woman also repeated allegations of abuse by Porter, CNN reported.

“Rob was abusive, degrading, a liar and a cheater and during the course of my relationship with him, I found out that he was to others, too,” the woman wrote to Willoughby in February 2016. “I am just searching for someone who might be able to relate to the hell I have gone through.”

Trump said he had little familiarity with Porter whose responsibilities included managing the flow of paperwork, including executive orders, that was sent to Trump’s desk, CNN reported.

Trump defended Porter.

“He says he’s innocent, and I think you have to remember that,” the president said. “It’s obviously a tough time for him. He did a very good job when he was in the White House, and we hope he has a wonderful career, and hopefully he will have a great career ahead of him.”
