ONLY THE BEST PEOPLE: SARAH HUCKABEE SANDERS

Sean Spicer left his job as White House press secretary six months into the Donald Trump presidency as a complete and utter failure, a liar who obsequiously defended a lying president, whose contentiousness toward the press corps provided the inspiration for Melissa McCarthy to mock him in a number of skits on Saturday Night Life

Politico reported that President Donald Trump was incensed about McCarthy’s portrayal of Spicer – not because McCarthy played Spicer as a vindictive, out-of-control bully but because Spicer was played by a woman.

Spicer set such a low bar for his successor than a sloth could have cleared it.

Unfortunately, President Trump did not hire a sloth to be his next press secretary.

Trump hired Spicer’s deputy press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who was more obsequious to Trump than Spicer, more hostile to the press than Spicer, and a far bigger liar than Spicer.

Sanders actually lowered the bar for those who succeeded her as White House press secretary.

This is her only contribution to the history of White House press secretaries.

It is not a compliment.

Sanders defended Trump, who – quoting Adolf Hitler of all people — called the press “the enemy of the people.”

Michael McCurry, who served as White House press secretary during the Bill Clinton Administration, told Sanders during a discussion on “the presidency, the public and the press” that reporters “are not the enemy of the people”:

“Your president has got to change the way he talks about the media — he has to,” McCurry said to Sanders.

“You cannot have a president that describes them as the enemy,” McCurry, speaking alongside Sanders, said.

“We have not declared war on the press,” Sanders said.

“Yes, you did,” McCurry replied.

Sanders was lying.

Sanders lied and lied and lied and lied and when you thought that she couldn’t lie any more, she lied some more.

There was perhaps no one in the White House who better reflected the lying, vulgar, and reprehensible nature of Trump like Sarah Sanders.

This is not a compliment.

Here are some examples:

Sanders called Trump’s policy of separating children from their parents at the border and locking them in detention facilities by calling it, “Biblical.”

It’s in the book of Drumpf.

Trump once retweeted three unverified, Islamophobic videos from a fringe right-wing group in Britain. Sanders chided reporters for asking why the president was spreading false and malicious claims about Muslims.

When a reporter asked, “Does it matter if it’s fake video?”

She responded as follows: “I’m not talking about the nature of the video. I think you’re focusing on the wrong thing. The threat is real, and that’s what the President is talking about.”

Say again.

If the threat was so real, why didn’t the president use real video of the real event?

When Trump fired FBI Director James Comey, Sanders said that “countless” FBI agents told her they had lost confidence in Comey.

Sanders later admitted she made this up, calling it “a slip of the tongue.”

A slip of the tongue is ordering meatballs instead of meatloaf.

A lie is saying you got food poisoning from eating meatloaf at a restaurant that you had never been.

Sanders claimed God “wanted Donald Trump to become president.”

This was apparently the same God that wanted parents and children separated and the child put in metal cages where they would be deprived of food.

Is it possible that Sander has a cognitive disorder that confuses the spelling of words and actually meant to say that her dog – and not God — wanted Trump to be president?

Yes, it’s possible she has a cognitive disorder.

No, dogs didn’t want Trump to be president.

Dogs hate Donald Trump too.

Sanders falsely claimed that the Trump administration’s Customs and Border Protection had prevented four thousand known or supposed terrorists from entering the United States through the Southern border.

NBC News, citing the U.S. Justice Department, said that “no immigrant has been arrested at the southwest border on terrorism charges in recent years.”

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/immigration/fact-check-did-u-s-catch-4-000-terrorists-southern-n954796

Sanders falsely claimed that the final report of the Mueller investigation completely “exonerated” Trump.

“The findings of the Department of Justice are a total and complete exoneration of the President of the United States,” Sanders said.

The Mueller Report clearly said it did not “exonerate him.”

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/03/24/white-house-on-mueller-findings-total-and-complete-exoneration-of-president-trump.html

When Sanders left the White House to run for governor of Arkansas, Vanity Fair magazine included the following: “Job-opening alert! Do you enjoy lying about easily fact-checked matters? Do you get pumped up thinking about running members of the media over with your car? Do you live to serve contemptible human beings? Then today’s your lucky day! Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Donald Trump’s longtime press secretary, is bidding the White House adieu.”

The magazine then included a series of her “biggest lies” such as denying knowledge of Trump’s hush-money payoffs even though Trump had admitted he had made them; falsely claiming that Trump had created far more jobs for African-Americans than President Barack Obama had, even though Obama created four times more jobs for African-Americans than Trump did; falsely claiming Trump had never “promoted or encouraged violence”; falsely claiming that Trump had never assaulting any of  the women who accused him of assault; and so on.

In fact, publishing Sarah Sanders’ lies became something of a cottage industry.

The conservative website, The Bulwark, included their own compilation of Sanders’ lies.

When Sanders left the White House, she said she hoped to be remembered as being “transparent and honest.”

Really.
