You’ve heard the stories of former child actors who ended up unemployed and struggling to find a job, addicted to drugs or alcohol, in prison, or dying young.
But Scott Baio had a far worse fate.
He became a Donald Trump a supporter.
Baio endorsed Donald Trump’s candidacy on March 19, 2016, telling Fox News’ Jeanine Pirro, “It’s very simple, because when he speaks I understand him. He speaks like I speak.”
Baio retweeted a meme that called Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton a “cu–.”

In an interview with Fox News’ Ashley Webster, Baio, who kept referring to Webster as “Lester,” said that President Obama was a Muslim.
In April 2010, he ridiculed Obama’s wife Michelle next to an unflattering photo of the first lady, “WOW He wakes up to this every morning?”
He defended Trump’s “grab ‘em by the pussy” comment on Fox News by saying, “Ladies out there, this is what guys talk about when you’re not around. So if you’re offended by it, grow up, ok?”
When Baio’s “Joanie Loves Chachi” (1982-1983) co-star died, he speculated that she had died of either drug or alcohol abuse. She died of cancer.
In 2018, one of the female actors from Baio’s program “Charles in Charge,” who was under the age of consent, accused him of sexual assault, and a male actor said that Baio had assaulted and mentally tortured him.
Say what you will about Baio, he does speak like Trump speaks.
Sadly, there is not a cure for them. Not yet anyway.
Baio once said he didn’t care about whether his pro-Trump comments would have had impact on his career.
. . . Perhaps he would care if he had a career.
