ONLY THE BEST PEOPLE: STEVE WYNN

Casino owners Donald Trump and Steve Wynn, chairman and CEO of Wynn Resorts, had long been bitter rivals as they battled one another for superiority in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

In The Art of the Deal, Trump said that Wynn was “slick and smooth, but he’s also a very strange guy.” Wynn described Trump as follows in New York magazine “How deeply is he disturbed? When he was a kid growing up — who did this to him?”

It was only a matter of time before Trump and Wynn — two men with so much in common – began working together.

After Trump became president in 2017, he rewarded his good friend, Wynn, who contributed more than a $1 million dollars to GOP candidates and an additional $729,000 to Trump’s presidential campaign, by having him named finance chair of the National Republican Committee.

In January 2018, the Wall Street Journal reported that “dozens” of Wynn’s employees had witnessed “a decades-long pattern of sexual misconduct by Mr. Wynn.” The newspaper reported that charges against Wynn included rape, assault, and harassment.

Wynn denied all charges.

In February Wynn resigned from his company, Wynn Resorts.

Wynn called all allegations of sexual misconduct “preposterous,” which of course explains why he willingly paid a $41 million settlement for his part in an alleged pattern of sexual misconduct.

The GOP continued to accept contributions from the disgraced Wynn.
