On January 6, 2021, thousands of supporters of President Trump, provoked by the president, stormed the U.S. Capitol to overturn the results of the Presidential Election. More than 1200 people have been charged with crimes related to the attack, including misdemeanors like trespassing and felonies such as assaulting police officers and seditious conspiracy, insurrection, or the act of overthrowing the government.

Richard “Bigo” Barnett, sentenced to 4 ½ years in prison for his part in the January 6, 2021, insurrection,

Roberto Minuta and Edward Vallejo, sentenced to federal prison on charges of seditious conspiracy, 

David Moerschel and Joseph Hackett, Oath Keepers who were sentenced to federal prison for three and half years and three years, respectively, for seditious conspiracy in connection to the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021,

Ethan Nordean, Washington state head of the Proud Boys, a white supremacist terrorist organization, sentenced to 18 years in federal prison on charges including seditious conspiracy for his part in the January 6, 2021, insurrection at U.S. Capitol,

Zachary Rehl, the former president of the Philadelphia chapter of the Proud Boys, a white supremacist terrorist organization, was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for seditious conspiracy and several other criminal counts related to the January 6, 2001, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol,

Stewart Rhodes, conspiracy peddler, disbarred attorney, and leader of the far-right militia, the Oath Keepers, who was sentenced to 18 years in federal prison for seditious conspiracy for the part he played in mobilizing the violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021,

Daniel Rodriguez, sentenced to more than 12 years in federal prison for savagely attacking a police officer defending the U.S. Capitol during the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6, 2021. 

Cesar Sayoc, a fervent supporter of President Donald Trump, pleaded guilty in March 2019 to sending homemade pipe bombs to who he considered enemies of Trump, including former President Barack Obama; former Vice President Joe Biden; former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton; billionaire donor George Soros; and actor Robert DeNiro. Sayoc was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison.

Edgar Maddison Welch, In early December 2017, Welch read on social media about a sex-trafficking ring run by former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her cronies in the basement of Comet Ping Pong, a pizzeria in Washington D.C.  Welch, armed with an AK-47 and other weapons, drove from his home in Salisbury, N.C., to the capital to “rescue,” as Welch put it, those nonexistent children. 

Jon Schaffer, former heavy metal guitarist and professed founding member of Oath Keepers who pleaded guilty to crimes related to the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021,

Peter Schwartz, sentenced to 14 years in prison for attacking police officers with pepper spray and a chair during the January 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol,

Roger Stone, President Donald Trump pardoned this longtime GOP adviser who was found guilty of a series of crimes related to a congressional investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential Election,

Enrique Tarrio, leader of the Donald Trump paramilitary organization, the Proud Boys, was sentenced to 22 years in prison for the role he played in organizing his gang of seditious punks to attack the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021,

Jessica Watkins, Oath Keepers defendant was sentenced to 8 ½ eight years in federal prison on charges related to the January 6, 2021, insurrection at the U. S. Capitol,

Thomas Webster, a retired New York Police Department officer was sentenced to 10 years in prison for attacking police officers during the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021,
